Respawn Lab

Design Concept:

This animation draws inspiration from vintage propaganda animations, such as short films from 'Fallout', and Cold War-era shorts about avoiding nuclear blasts. It culminates in a darkly humorous short about a deceitful evil pharmaceutical company. The story gradually builds tension and unease, aiming to reveal the devastated environment at the end, resolving the bizarre and curious issues set up earlier with a sense of sudden clarity.

Production Process:

In the early stages, I used traditional methods to create storyboards on Procreate. I drew all the frame-by-frame animations in CSP, then used PR to edit the animation sequences together. Finally, I added special effects in AE, such as the gradually shrinking TV screen, glitch effects, smoke, and sound effects. The fake cheerfulness on the TV screen contrasted with the desolate environment in the end highlights the intense dramatic conflict.
